Location of the bus station The Yen So bus station is located right on the Ring Road 3, Yen So Ward, Hoang Mai District, next to the Ring Road 3 access road, near Yen So Park, opposite Yen So fish market, and only 2km from the Phap Van intersection. The Yen So bus station is next to the Hateco Hoang Mai apartment complex.

According to the Hanoi City planning project for bus stations, parking lots, logistics centers, and rest stops until 2030, with a vision to 2050, the Yen So bus station is planned as a medium-term interprovincial bus station, playing a supporting role and reducing congestion for the three major stations in the south: Giap Bat, Nuoc Ngam, and Gia Lam.

Currently, Hanoi has 5 main operating bus stations: My Dinh, Giap Bat, Nuoc Ngam, Yen Nghia, and Gia Lam. In addition, two new bus terminals are under construction: Dong Anh Bus Terminal (Dong Anh District) – the largest ever, invested in by Van Thuan Holdings Joint Stock Company, and Yen So Bus Terminal. Upon completion, Yen So will become the 7th interprovincial bus terminal in Hanoi.
Yen So Bus Terminal Design
The Yen So bus terminal project covers an area of approximately 3.5 hectares. After nearly 10 years, in early 2025, the Hanoi People’s Committee officially allocated over 27,500 m² of land for the project.
According to the approved design, Yen So Bus Terminal (Hoang Mai District, Hanoi) will have 4 floors (3 above ground, 1 basement). The basement, approximately 5,000 m², will be used as a parking garage for passengers. The center of the terminal will be a circular building with 3 floors and an area of 2,000 m². The first floor will house ticket sales and rental showrooms, while the second floor will feature fast food outlets.
A highlight of the Yen So bus station is the application of modern technology and automation in most operational processes. The entire system for controlling vehicle entry and exit, LED electronic information boards displaying bus schedules, passenger gates, bus and taxi areas… are all integrated with technology, aiming for a smart, self-contained bus station model from passenger pick-up and drop-off to waiting areas and ticket sales. It is expected that, upon completion, this will be the most modern bus station in the country.
The Hanoi People’s Committee issued Decision No. 1096/QD-UBND dated February 27, 2025, allowing Thanh Tri Bus Station Joint Stock Company to lease 27,577.3 m2 of land in Yen So ward, Hoang Mai district, to implement the Yen So Bus Station construction project. The land use period is determined from the date of signing the lease decision until December 30, 2066.
According to the latest updated information, the construction contract for the project has been implemented with the contractor being Ho Chi Minh Museum Construction Joint Stock Company. The project is expected to be completed and put into operation in the second quarter of 2026.
The Yen So Bus Station began construction in May 2025, with a scale of nearly 30,000 m2, recognized as the most modern in the country.
The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026. It is known that the Yen So Bus Station project has a capacity of 800-1000 vehicles/day, with the initial phase operating at 400 vehicles/day.
Currently, the project is proceeding with pile driving and the construction of the basement foundation.
Previously, on December 30, 2016, the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the investment plan for the Yen So Bus Station in Decision No. 7283. The total investment for the project is 118 billion VND, of which the investor’s capital contribution is 30 billion VND (accounting for 25.4%), and the remainder is borrowed capital and mobilized from other sources (88 billion VND, accounting for 74.6%). The project’s operating period is 50 years.
